Insecure In Her Skin
by April Throckmorton
At some point in our lives, we all feel insecure about the way we look and feel about
ourselves. It is completely normal to feel this way. What matters the most, is how you
feel about your body, and what you can do to make yourself happy.
Feeling insecure about your appearance can affect you in many ways. For instance, you
want to go to a shopping mall, but you are limited to what stores you can shop in. You
might walk out empty handed, or possibly with a handbag or a pair of earrings. This is
very frustrating for curvy women, who can only purchase accessories, because the store
doesnt carry your size, or you notice the thin Sales Associate taking a glance at
you and must be thinking: I dont think shes going to find something in her
size. Unfortunately this world is filled with people just like the thin Sales Associate
who doesn't have an understanding of what it's like to be a curvy woman. In addition,
finding clothes to fit your curves can also be an obstacle that can make a curvy woman
feel insecure, and sometimes hopeless.
Many women shelter themselves from a huge world of opportunities, because they
dont feel confident enough to pursue the happy life they deserve. Several years ago
I was that person! Until one day I finally woke up, and realized this is my body, and I
should make the most of it. Since then, I have pursued many things that didnt even
exist in my world. I did Fashion Shows locally, which gave me an enormous amount of
confidence, to pursue Plus Size Modeling. From there things started to evolve, and my
world was changing right before my eyes. Ive had the pleasure of working with very
well known people in the Plus Industry, and it has truly changed my life.
Modeling did help my confidence level, but it was more than that. It was the passion
inside my heart to help the Plus Size Woman feel more confident and proud to be a Curvy
Woman.
