Billions of dollars are spent on losing weight each year.
This spending has been going on now for decades. So why is the percentage of overweight
people still higher than those considered to be a normal weight? Are magic diet pills not
working? Are exercise machines not producing results as advertised? Is the majority of
diet plans not working? Who or what is to blame for this rise in overweight people?
The fear factor of getting a heart attack, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure,
arthritis, cancer or some other health problem related to being overweight doesn't seem to
be working to reduce the statistics either.
I began digital publishing information to help others in 1997. The topic wasn't on
weight loss, it was to help others make items and write information related to
woodworking. I now weigh 30 pounds more than I did in 1997. I could blame this on the
computer, my wife's good cooking, drinking non-diet soda, and/or aging. Probably the
weight gain is a combination of the previously mentioned.
Now, I have this extra weight, so I ask myself what can I do to get rid of it. I did
the research and found that many other people are in the same situation. The bottom line
from my weight loss research was that a person should exercise using different methods,
and not use the same movements over and over again, plus, be aware of what the food intake
is and what it contains. That's easier said than done!
The lifestyle change I must make, is to revolve it around intense exercise and spend
extra money on food my taste buds really don't care for. My research has shown that many
people must feel about the lifestyle change the same way that I do. Is this lifestyle
really worth going into debt over? It costs money to take time out of each day and
exercise to burn off all those calories. It takes additional funds on those so-called
healthy foods. This doesn't sound like a healthy and positive attitude to take, does it?
Whatever lifestyle you choose to take is entirely up to you. The information you
acquire for any weight loss should be free of charge, and you shouldn't be swayed by some
advertisement promoting a cure all pill. And, you shouldn't be swayed by some high paid
model trying to sell you some sort of exercise equipment. Remember, an actor or
spokesperson like Chuck Norris has spent his career on staying fit and trim.
I want to get straight facts about what actually goes into my body and get information
from "real people" that don't have any interest in making a profit from it. I
also want to know the consequences on how any "weight loss magic pill" is going
to effect my future wellness. Can my future aged body afford to take that quick fix weight
loss risk that I might consider taking? A gambling person should know his or her odds
before taking any risk into consideration.
We publish EP EXTRA, a free online magazine to try and get to the facts for those who
happen to have EXTRA pounds. We have passionate writers who have a positive outlook on
life and want to bring you uplifting and accurate information. There is no person in this
world who should constantly get bombarded with advertisements about weight loss and the
fear that they "may" die at an early age if he or she doesn't lose it.
As I mentioned earlier, I have a passion for helping others, you should be able to see
that from visiting our home page at EastmanPublishing.com
and also through EP EXTRA. I want EP EXTRA to be a success and continue to be a free
online magazine. You can help by visiting EP EXTRA and telling others
about it too (word of mouth is still the best advertisement).
I must admit that I like to watch some reality shows, and it's that similar theme that
I want EP EXTRA to go by. I want to hear from "real people" that have a desire
to express their feelings and help others. Are you happy with yourself? Have you lost
weight and able to keep it off? Have you lost weight through some pill, but have to use
some other means to counteract something your body is now missing?
Our main focus at EP EXTRA isn't about weight loss. Our primary function is to provide
a means for self-acceptance by bringing you free information relating to online and
offline communities, shopping specials and locations, fashion, beauty, modeling, what
other people are doing and more. Join us in finding answers to whether or not we all can
really afford to lose weight.
