| EastmanPublishing.com has
permission by Rockler® to include this free CD/DVD Tower Plan on our website. We have
chosen to include this free plan on EastmanPublishing.com in order to explain several ways
that you could also build a CD/DVD Tower to suit your needs. For example, instead of making the CD/DVD Tower 6' tall according to the plan below, you could shorten the lengths of the parts A and B (described below), which would give you a reduced version. For instance, instead of using the measurements of 73 1/2" (A and B) for a 6' Tower, you could reduce the lengths to 23 1/2" and build a 2' tall one. Of course, you would then need to cut the CD/DVD holder strips to accommodate the different measurements. We have a CD Desk-Top plan within each of our Woodworking
Rover CDs that explains how-to make spaced slots within the wood using a dado blade, which
will avoid having to use the plastic Holder Strips. That plan will help you create a
Desk-Top CD Holder that's capable of holding up to 24 CDs. |

Build
this Space-saving This tower stands 75 -3/4'' overall and is designed to hold both CDs or DVDs using Rockler CD (35434) or DVD (38094) strips. Using a simple box type construction you can build this project in less than an hour. Use solid boards or edge-bonded plywood. Start by cutting all of your materials as listed in the materials list below. On parts "A" cut a 3/8'' wide by 1/4'' deep rabbet as shown in figure 1. On parts "D" and "E" you can route a decorative edge as desired. Begin assembly by constructing the main "box" using parts "A", "B", & "C" as indicated in the exploded view of this plan. Join the corner with glue and nails or plugged screws, dowels or biscuits. Apply parts "D" and "E" as shown in figure 2. Finish as Desired. Apply CD or DVD strips flush with front edge for best results and enjoy.
