| Old-Time Planes & Paring
Tools is re-published information by Eastman Publishing from Every Man His Own
Mechanic which was originally published sometime in the 1800's when the adjustable
plane had only been in the market for some years earlier. Although the original book
doesn't have a date of publication, we assume it was published sometime around the 1860's
to 1880's after Leonard Bailey's 1867 Patent of the adjustable plane, and during the time
of him giving Stanley Rule, and Level Co. the right to manufacture tools under his
patents. We have extracted old-time tools information
from the antique book mentioned above, plus Shop Projects Based on Community Problems,
published 1915, which is information regarding the parts of a plane.
This Ebook provides you with information about various
old-time tools. It explains about the divisions of paring tools, such as hand-planes,
drawing-knife and spokeshave, plus chisels and gouges and how-to use them. Intuitive
antique information for those interested in these types of old-time hand tools of
yesteryear, which is still noteworthy how-to information even for today's woodworker.
